WOMEN IN ACTION

Join us to Celebrate community nutrition and wellness at our culminating Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day event.

AWỌ, in collaboration with Soil & Water and Kafenia Peace Collective, presents its annual Women In Action program with a “farm-to-clay-pot-to-tableish” experience.  Women will gather to share, learn and engage with one another in fun and educational ways. Men and boys are welcome too.

We start by learning about the amazing work of women around the world and of American women. Then we will hear from our speakers on green and sustainable planting and eating practices, and the science, engineering and technology of Indigenous food storage practices with emphasis on the African clay pot. We will all taste from a variety of incredible clay pot recipes, share diverse clay pot stories, enjoy some light entertainment and have the opportunity to tour, walk around the garden and deepen connections.

It promises to be a fun STEAMy event!

You are encouraged to bring food made in your own clay cooking pot for sharing.
